We live in a very small village, but in which Alzheimer’s disease is very widespread among the elderly, so much so that specific studies have also been made about it on our territory.

For about three years a cooperation project has started among all the associations present in our village, including our youth centre. Our task as a youth association has been to involve people with this disease in recreational activities. The aim is to make them feel integrated into society and help them above all to fight the loneliness and emptiness that exists within their minds.

The meetings took place periodically throughout the year alternating different activities.

In these photos is represented the last event “Maratona”, that is a little walk through the main street of the village.

With these three photos we want to represent the theme of inclusion because it is very important for us not to forget or leave alone the elderly of our village who suffer from a degenerative disease that daily takes away many memories from their minds. It is important for us to keep them as an important part of the community and to consider them as a resource of our village’s history.
